The ways of Satguru Maharaj Ji are beyond human comprehension. His love for humanity and His mysterious workings cannot be fully understood by any mortal. My experience in 1994 remains one of the many reasons I continue to testify to His presence and intervention in my life.
I am SP Alhaja Ramota Opeloyeru Tijani. I received Maharaj Ji Divine Knowledge on September 7, 1986, in Bodija, Ibadan. I retired as Chief Matron from Aminu Kano University Teaching Hospital, Kano State. I am from Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State and served throughout my nursing career with diligence, dedication, and integrity.
As a child of Maharaj Ji, I have always believed that whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. I also believe that when one performs one's duties honestly and conscientiously, no force can ultimately deny such a person the rewards of genuine effort.
In 1994, during my years of active service as a nurse, I encountered a major challenge. Unknown to me, some colleagues and even certain superiors appeared to harbor resentment toward me. One day, while processing documents for an official assignment, I went to the Records Department to retrieve my personnel file. After an extensive search, the staff informed me that my file could not be found.
Hours were spent searching, but the file remained missing. As a temporary solution, the department created a temporary file with the approval of my immediate superior, who was then the Head of the Nursing Department and Head of the Service Management Board.
Although this temporary arrangement allowed me to continue carrying out official duties, it created serious complications. My original file contained important records required for career advancement and other employment benefits. Without it, I faced the possibility of losing opportunities I had rightfully earned.
A few months later, a promotion exercise was announced. The absence of my official file meant that I could be excluded from consideration. At that point, I realized the seriousness of the situation and began asking myself several questions. How did the file disappear? Who was responsible? Why had this happened?
Despite my concerns, I remained confident that Maharaj Ji would intervene. I contacted Maharaj Ji and explained my predicament. Maharaj Ji assured me that I should not worry and that the situation was under His control. As my personal contribution, I embarked on a seven-day dry fast, praying and meditating throughout the period.
During the fasting period, I still needed to process official documents using the temporary file. Following the established administrative procedure, the file was presented to my superior for approval and was later forwarded to a deputy for additional endorsement.
After several hours, I visited the deputy's office to retrieve the file. I knocked, entered when invited, and took a seat as instructed. When the deputy looked up and saw me, an unexpected incident occurred. He suddenly appeared distressed and soon collapsed in his chair.
I immediately raised an alarm and informed my superior. Medical assistance was summoned, and the deputy was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Three days later, staff members assigned to organize and clean the deputy's office began sorting through documents and rearranging files. During the process, they removed a rug and discovered numerous files hidden beneath it.
To everyone's surprise, thirty-five personnel files were found. My missing file was among them.
I was overwhelmed with gratitude. After months of uncertainty, my original file had finally been recovered. I immediately informed Maharaj Ji of the development and thanked Him for His intervention.
At that stage, the promotion registration process was nearly over, but because my file had been recovered in time, I was able to complete the necessary procedures. Eventually, I was promoted to a senior position.
To me, this experience remains a powerful testimony of faith, perseverance, and divine assistance. Had my file not been recovered, I might have been denied a promotion for which I was fully qualified.
The experience strengthened my conviction that Maharaj Ji is always available to assist those who call upon Him with sincerity. It also inspired me to share my testimony with colleagues throughout my remaining years in service. From that time until my retirement, I consistently spoke about Satguru Maharaj Ji and the role His guidance played in my life.
For this and many other blessings, I remain profoundly grateful.
